There are endless platforms for searching for recommendations on where and what to eat. This doesn’t make things easy for a foodie who wants straight answers and suggestions to these conundrums.
They tend to follow the same procedure when searching for these recommendations. A primary search used by these foodies would be ‘restaurants near me’ (other keywords are also used). The scrolling begins as foodies check out the reviews of these restaurants and the pictures of the food being sampled by others. They would also hazard a guess as to what’s actually on the menu and then hope that they will enjoy the experience after booking it.
This time-consuming process can cause complications when all foodies want a simple answer: What should I eat?
However, as of September 2024, it seemed that the complications would be close to ceasing to exist. This is thanks to the introduction of the app Solt, created by Dan Rusu, the app’s brainchild. Dan created this app to end the frustrations foodies, such as himself, encountered when searching for restaurant recommendations. The IOS version of Solt was then launched in December 2024 for Apple product users.
To this day, Solt includes dishes for over 280 restaurants in 26 countries worldwide. European countries, such as Italy, Romania, and Spain, are among those using Solt. Europe is also the continent on which Solt's headquarters are based.
The app is a creation of something that makes looking at food recommendations simple. It has the power to enable the solutions to problems, including:
Finding food promptly – The posts on this app will show you the actual food items themselves, served by the restaurant.
Placing trust in food lovers – The pictures posted on Solt consist of the food eaten at restaurants by the foodies.
Posting your food pictures – You can also use this app to post your images and influence those looking to visit a particular restaurant.
The pages on Solt that show users the best food in restaurants
Not only does Solt offer many benefits for app users, but it is also a good opportunity for content creators to use it. Making money from advertising food and travel content can be very rare, mainly when they use Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok to promote their content. Another method for monetising their work is through brand deals, and even then, large numbers would be required to pull this off.
It is believed, however, that Solt has the power to change this and can provide the following benefits for content creators, big and small:
Finding a niche – Content creators can be the best people to refer to should foodies need recommendations for certain specifications (e.g., gluten-free, high-protein meals).
Building a following – Those using Solt can also follow content creators for more pictures of the food they sample.
Earning from content – Further growth for Solt means it will be able to monetise the content posted by its creators.
Current Solt content creators can also share the link to this content on their other social media, such as TikTok, Instagram, etcetera.

The Solt app is in its beginning stages, and improvements will be made when available. Solt will continue to provide its services to users who wish to post pictures of their food in restaurants. As well as this, Solt will support content creators so that it can eventually pay them for the time and effort put in to provide amazing foodie content.
