Tino’s – The Smallest Restaurant in Längenfeld

Nestled in the mountains of the Oetztal valley lies Längenfeld, a town situated near the renowned Aqua Dome. It upholds a reputation for being associated with all things hiking, skiing, and wellness-related. It also welcomes visitors to stay and sample delicious food at its restaurants.
These restaurants vary in size, with some accommodating more people at any given time. However, one restaurant offers the most intimate dining experience in Längenfeld, given its petite size. This is one of the best descriptions of Tino’s Restaurant, which has been sharing its love for Mediterranean food with the town for over 13 years.

Having only heard about Tino’s on the morning of my visit to Längenfeld, I was intrigued to visit it and see if it truly was a small restaurant with a large number of offerings. As I approach Tino’s Restaurant with a friend, I can see for myself how small it truly is. Upon entering Tino’s, however, the atmosphere is of a warm standard, noticeable as I observe the small number of tables laid out and already filled. One table is available, and my friend and I take seats at it.
The menus are presented to us, and we read through the available options. Four pages’ worth of pizza options make themselves known to us, as well as the smaller number of pasta options. Having a strong belief in ordering pizza at an Italian restaurant, the menu already swings in my favour.
I come across the ‘Da Tino’ pizza and decide to order this, while my friend orders the Fusilli Arrabiata pasta dish. We both ordered some water for the table to keep ourselves hydrated before our walk. I then take in my surroundings in this smallest restaurant in town and notice, on my right, the array of local wines on display. Similar to the pizza options, Tino’s certainly has no shortage of red wines on offer.

I am then distracted from the displayed red wines as our table is presented with the Da Tino pizza and Fusilli Arrabiata pasta dishes. I immediately notice the puddle of gorgonzola cheese which lies in the centre of the pizza, which is also topped with ham, spinach and onions. My friend’s Arrabiata pasta gives the impression of a homemade dish topped with olives and Parmesan cheese.
Using my fingers for the pizza does not seem like an easy option, so I use my available cutlery to start eating it. I also drizzle over the chilli oil, which is available in a decorative bottle. Slicing through the pizza, the base proves to be crispy on the bottom, slightly surprising given the stringy gorgonzola cheese. The available chilli oil intensifies the pizza's heat, which works well with my palate’s excitement.

At first bite, the richness of the tomato pizza sauce comes through sharply, followed by the sweetness of the onions. The gorgonzola cheese is smooth on the palate and pairs well with the spinach's freshness. While the background music does not fully complement the moment, I can still examine all the pizza’s elements on my palate.
My friend then lets me sample the Fusilli Arrabiata and the olives that come with it. Luckily for her, I am a lover of olives and would eat as many as possible. The limited amount of sauce on this dish is noticeable, but so is Tino’s delivery with the intense Arrabiata and olive flavours coming through. The pasta itself is not al dente, which is a win for me, as I prefer it not to be too firm.

Enjoying the ambience some more, we then pay for our food before departing Tino’s. Being Längenfeld’s smallest restaurant, it still delivers on its promise to represent Italian cuisine. The family running the restaurant, to this day, consistently ensures this and will hopefully do so for 13 years more.
